Just wanna say Thank You to the unbelievable outpouring of support I’ve received from so many of you on this very difficult day. Means a lot
I’m quite overwhelmed with emotion and grief. Lots of could’ve/would’ve/should’ve. i know it’s not healthy but i can’t help it. Really hurts
Heartbroken.
Vet just told me that if @NixonTheKitty is septic, his chances for survival go down considerably. He could pass away at any time.
We brought him home to be with us. He fought hard. But his body gave out around 3:20 am. We love you @NixonTheKitty. R.I.P. 2003-2010.
Damn. @NixonTheKitty just had a seizure, his blood sugar is low (53-norm is 110). He’s a very sick kitty. Are we doing the right thing?
I’m very saddened to say that the prognosis for Nixon is extremely poor. He has a massive infection in his chest. Thanks for your support.
We’ve decided that if any kitty deserves a chance, it’s @NixonTheKitty. We’re not out of the woods yet, waiting to see how procedure goes.
So we’ve decided to get Nixon’s chest tapped & get all the pus taken out. This is a temporary reprieve & we’ll need a LOT more money.
Freaking out. @nixonthekitty has labored breathing, has been howling and vomiting, not very responsive. Taking him to emergency vet. :_(
We were able to look at the pus pulled from @NixonTheKitty’s chest under a microscope & there was tons of bacteria. It was stunning.
So, after much gut-wrenching, we’ve decided to give @NixonTheKitty a fighting chance after all. He has pyothorax. His chest is filled w/pus.
The news is bad.He has a lot of fluid around his lungs. Could be a heart condition, cancer, infection, pleural or chylous effusion, leukemia
Things have gotten worse I’m sorry to say. Trying to find more money right now as we’re already running out. Pray for @NixonTheKitty
Thanks for all your kind words & thoughts on @NixonTheKitty. Fact is Nixon would need a LOT (minumum 3-5K) of money, just for starters.
We are at SF Vet Specialists & Emergency Services at Alabama and 18th. They’re doing lots of tests: x-rays, blood work, etc. No update yet.
